The Grundy Center girls track and field team wrapped up its pre-conference meet schedule with team victories at the Cadet Relays in Iowa Falls and the Cougar Relays in Sumner.

      TAMA – BCLUW used a series of second-place finishes to take fourth in the team race at the Dream Builders Invitational at the Meskwaki Settlement.

      TAMA – Daniel Zoske won the discus and placed second in the shot put, leading the BCLUW boys track and field team at the Dream Builders Invitational at Meskwaki Settlement last Monday.

      TAMA – Grace Farnsworth took a conference championship in the shot put, leading the BCLUW girls to fourth in the team race at the Iowa Star Conference Meet Thursday at the Meskwaki Settlement School.

      TAMA – Third-place finishes in the 4 x 800 and distance medley relays led BCLUW to eighth place in the team race at the Iowa Star Conference Meet at the Meskwaki Settlement School.

DES MOINES – A trio of Grundy Center seniors set career-best times on their way to top-nine finishes at the Drake Relays last weekend.

      GRUNDY CENTER – Alex Kiewiet captured medalist honors with a four-over-par 76 Saturday, leading Grundy Center to second place at its own Bob Schmadeke Invitational at the Town and Country Golf Club.

      BROOKLYN – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck and BCLUW boys track and field teams competed at the Bear Trax Classic at BGM High School Tuesday.

      COLFAX – Carl Hoodjer won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and placed second in both the 400 and long jump while Bo Starr swept the titles in the throwing events, leading the AGWSR boys track team to second place at the Colfax-Mingo Coed.

      WATERLOO – Freshman Karina Arvizu-Ersland had a hat trick last Tuesday as the Grundy Center/Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls soccer team topped Columbus Catholic 5-0 in Waterloo.

      GRUNDY CENTER – The Grundy Center boys tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches last week, topping Iowa Falls-Alden 9-0 and Oelwein 8-1.

      HUDSON – Grundy Center held off a Dike-New Hartford rally in the final two events to take first place at the Hudson Relays last Monday.

      GREENE – Pete Lebo won the 110-meter hurdles and anchored Grundy Center to first in the shuttle hurdle relay, leading the Spartans to fourth place at the Kyle Marquard North Butler Invitational Friday.

      ELDORA – Bo Starr picked up the lone local victory Friday as three area teams competed in the boys division at the South Hardin Coed.
