GRUNDY CENTER, IA — High-flying horsepower and roaring engines took over the Grundy County Fairgrounds this past weekend as the rescheduled Monster Trucks Maniac show took place in town. Originally postponed in August due to inclement weather and track safety concerns, the event delivered high flying entertainment to attendees on both Friday and Saturday nights in Grundy Center.

GRUNDY CENTER – The Grundy County Health Board had their bi-monthly meeting this past Tuesday, Sept. 8, and there were a variety of topics addressed. 

REINBECK – During its monthly meeting on Sept. 1, the city of Reinbeck proposed a new property tax to fund a five-year continuing capital improvements plan that would begin next year and run through 2031.

DIKE, Iowa – In July 2025, the Dike City Council voted to permanently close their aged pool due to concerns with a series of severe structural failures including a massive water leakage and failing infrastructure. A few residents felt strongly enough to come together and come up with solutions to replace the closed pool and memories with a new pool to create new experiences for the town. 

Absentee ballot request forms are now available for the general election. As of Tuesday, Aug. 25, residents may now request absentee ballots by mail and may do so until Monday, Oct.
