Mary DeVries (Conraads), 98, formerly of Dike, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Abels Funeral Home in Dike, Iowa. A funeral service and luncheon will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the Liberty Baptist Church in Dike. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church cemetery in Holland, Iowa.

Charles Eugene Diehl, 82, of Eldora, Iowa passed away on June 27, 2026. A lifelong farmer, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Charles was a large presence (figuratively and literally) who was, at heart, a gentle giant who never knew a stranger.

Doris Chabal (age 93) of Grundy Center, Iowa died of cancer on June 15, 2026 at the Grundy Care Center.

Catherine Ann Petersen (Nielsen), 81, of Dike, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Creekside Living in Grundy Center, Iowa.

Mildred D, "Milly" Anderson, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at UnityPoint Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

Helen Elaine Modlin, 95, of Grundy Center, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook, under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice.

Robert “Bob” Warner Sparenborg, 74, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died of natural causes at home on June 5, 2026.

James C. (Jim) Jansen , 87, of Waterloo, died on Friday, May 29, 2026, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

He was born on October 18, 1938, in Grundy Center, the son of Max and Gertrude (Haack) Jansen. He graduated from Dike High School in 1956.

Steve E. Delfs, 81, a proud member of the Grundy Center community, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. 

Jerry Arthur Luiken, 94, of Grundy Center, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Arlington Assisted Living in Grundy Center. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Abels Funeral and Cremation Services in Grundy Center. A visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery following the memorial service.

Kathy Lynn (Bockes) Gunn, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died at the age of 72 on April 7, 2026 in Marietta, Georgia.
