GREENE – Pete Lebo won the 110-meter hurdles and anchored Grundy Center to first in the shuttle hurdle relay, leading the Spartans to fourth place at the Kyle Marquard North Butler Invitational Friday.
The Spartans, who were running without Drake Relays competitors Brayden Davie and Emerson Vokes, scored 68 points. West Hancock won the meet with 122 points while Saint Ansgar (85) and North Butler (76) rounded out the top three.
Lebo finished the 110 hurdles in a career-best 15.00 seconds and joined Devin Hinders, Lake Schrage and Ethan Meester on the shuttle hurdle, which ran a season-best 1:02.05. Other Grundy Center wins came from Judd Jirovsky, in the 400-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles. Jirovsky was also second in the long jump while JD Eckhardt placed fourth in the discus with a season-best throw of 143 feet, 4 inches.
