Today’s column is one that I’ve been dreading over the past three and one-half weeks … to the point where I wasn’t sure I was going to write it. It’s my final one as editor of The Grundy Register and Butler County Eclipse. By the time you read this, I’ll have begun a new chapter and challenge in my life. 

To the People of House District 57

Readers of this newsletter have seen regular updates from me this year on the property tax reform conversations we had this session. In the end, we landed on a piece of legislation that I believe is a major win for Iowa property taxpayers.  It's expected to save Iowa taxpayers roughly $350 million in the first year and about $4 billion over 6 years. 

From the Cheap Seats

   I wasn’t much into the social scene when I was in high school. I never dated anyone until I was in college and had no desire at all to attend prom.
