APLINGTON – Aplington-Parkersburg/Dike-New Hartford United scored five second-half goals on its way to a 6-2 victory over Denver Tuesday in Aplington.
United (5-3-1) scored once in the first half against Denver. Cooper Mulder scored a pair of goals for the Falcons while Dax Weedman, Karter Petersen, Aiden Merrill and Max Cummings also found the back of the net. Cummings also had three assists while Isiah Olson had eight of the 10 Falcon saves.
Friday the Falcons could not take advantage of early scoring opportunities and played to a scoreless draw against North Fayette Valley. Olson had six saves for the Falcons, who out-shot NFV 12-10.
United played at Central Iowa United Monday in State Center. It hosts Hudson Thursday and plays at Independence Friday.
