CONRAD – The BCLUW School District Board of Education approved a transition plan that will take the District from three buildings to two.
Superintendent Ben Petty shared the plan, which he has been working on with building principals. It outlines areas including taking fifth- and sixth-grade to one section each. It also covered facility modifications, staffing transition, student orientation programming, handbook development and operational planning. The Board approved the plan on a unanimous vote.
In other business, the board approved its Fiscal 2027 budget. Approval came following a budget hearing during which there were no comments. The tax rate will be $12.05577 per $1,000 valuation.
The Board approved its master contract, pending ratification with an increased generator base from $36,960 to $37,500. It also approved recommended increases for various staff positions.
The Board approved the resignations of custodian AJ Bergman, teacher Jodi Hinegardner, cook/bus driver/custodian Deb Beeghly and assistant football coach Michael White. It also accepted the non-renewal of a contract due to a reduction in workforce.
The next BCLUW School Board meeting will be May 18 at 5 p.m. in the high school media center.
