GRUNDY CENTER – Earlier this month, Grundy Center local Mandy Yoder began her duties as the new branch director of the Grundy Family YMCA.
Andrew Peters, Chief Operating Officer of the Black Hawk County YMCA, welcomed Yoder to her new role.
“I think [Mandy] will do a great job leading the Grundy County Branch by bringing a new perspective to the services we offer county residents,” Peters said. “The community connections and relationships that she brings to the role will be beneficial in helping us focus our efforts on the most crucial youth and adult community needs in our county. Welcome to the Branch Director position Mandy!”
Yoder, who has an extensive background in health and wellness, specifically in the area of physical therapy, says she’s excited to put her skills to use at the YMCA.
“It’s a different spin on what I’ve done before, but this opportunity came up and fit the field of where my interests lie,” Yoder said. “I’m hoping I can get more people excited about the things that are happening here, with the changes we’re looking to make with the renovations and everything.”
Yoder says the hope is to eventually add program or meeting rooms in the un-renovated portion of the Y facility.
