Sara Lynn Lamp

Sara Lynn Lamp, 33, of Grundy Center, was born on February 27, 1989 to Dr. Frank and Sue Lamp in Mason City, Iowa. She passed away on May 27, 2022 at Mercy One Hospital in Waterloo. Sara was born with Leukemia, JCML, and had a 100% bone marrow match at 15 months old from one of her brothers. Throughout most of her early years she handled her recovery well, with periodic health issues that were dealt with as much as possible. Over her later years she began to experience frequent and more complex situations. In her last 6 months her health steadily declined, but Sara was strong and a fighter and fought to the very end. Sara's passion in life was her family. Especially her nieces and nephews. She loved her brothers but it was the children who gave her joy. She kept in touch with the ones who lived far away through Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook, taking silly pictures and sharing their lives together. Sara loved music and was involved in chorus and drama productions throughout high school and college. She enjoyed and was very good at photography, serving several weddings in that capacity. She loved movies and was an avid Batman fan, collecting various Batman objects. Sara is survived by her father and mother, four brothers, Jesse, Nathan, Owen (Lauren), and Joseph (Haley), 13 nieces and nephews. Aliyah, Rebekka, Julian, Paul, Rachel, Tallula, Emma, Kari, William, Ida, Ellie, Tristan and Lily. Her aunt Ellen Barr, Uncles Ray See (Berdine), Don See, David See (Rose) and several cousins.

Sara was preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents, five aunts and an uncle. Sara left behind her precious cats, who were her children, and several very close friends and will be missed by many. Sara was short in stature but large in heart. She is with Jesus now and is healthy and whole at last. Memorial services will be held sometime around the end of June, allowing for the arrival of distant family members.
