The obituary of Patsy Lee Starr Owen, married to Michael D. Owen on August 17, 1958, is not about what she did in her life but what she loved in her life. Pat was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 12, 1937. She died on October 28, 2020. She was extremely grateful for the journey. Each morning she thanked God for the privilege of another new day and prayed for strength and wisdom to meet its challenges and savor its joys. She saw beauty in all of nature but was also very aware of nature’s violence and she was saddened and humbled. She delighted in the awakening of spring, soft summer breezes, the vibrant colors of autumn and winter’s snow diamonds and frosty trees against a bright blue sky. Above all, she was mesmerized by surging waves crashing against a rocky shore. She also enjoyed the songs of birds, marveled at the beauty of butterfly wings and was drawn to the alertness, strength and self-preservation of the animal kingdom. Actually, Pat found all forms of life to be quite miraculous. Including her own.

Pat was passionate about her husband; her children; their spouses and her grandchildren. They filled her heart and soul with overwhelming, unconditional love. Her happiness came from family and friends. She rejoiced in their ambition, intellect, wisdom, talent, wit, compassion and forgiveness. Each person totally unique, totally wonderful. As Pat traveled throughout the world, she gained great respect and admiration for people of all nations Oh, how she treasured and appreciated these experiences. Pat sends hugs and blessings and would like to be remembered as a fellow traveler along life’s busy highways and byways. Only two of her wishes did not materialize. She wished she could have taken life a little less seriously, and had sparkling eyes. Maybe next time. Prayers not wishes; there is the difference!
