CEDAR FALLS – Dike-New Hartford graduate Owen Goos represented the Wolverines as part of the North Squad of the Iowa Shrine Bowl All-Star Football Classic, played at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls last Saturday afternoon.

The 47th iteration of the annual game was won by the South, 24-13. Goos played in the second and fourth quarters on the defensive line.

Saturday's game was Goos' first time back on the UNI-Dome turf since the state championship game earlier this school year. D-NH lost to West Sioux, 52-38.

In addition to playing at the Dome again, Goos and the other selected Shrine Bowl players participate in practices all week long with teammates from around the state, as well as special events like a Hog Roast at the Black Hawk County Rotary Reserve, a BBQ at the UNI-Dome and visiting with Minneapolis Shriner's Hospital Staff and Patients to learn more about the help that Shriner's Hospital for Children provides.
