COVID-19 update, July 23, 2020

The latest figures for COVID-19 positive cases were released, and Grundy County stands at 60 total. Fortunately, there were no additional deaths, the total remaining at 1 loss of life coming just last week.

There were 716 new positive cases reported in Iowa from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday per the state’s official dashboard. This brings the total number of cases to 40,509. 

Officials also reported 7 additional virus-related deaths since Wednesday morning, pushing the state's death toll to 815.

There were also 256 additional recoveries reported, bringing the state's total number of recoveries up to 28,863.

The recommendations for residents, per health officials is still to practice social distancing and hygiene, as well as safe practices of wearing masks and staying home if you feel sick or are showing other symptoms of illness.
