BCLUW volleyball beats Bolts

CONRAD – The BCLUW volleyball team advanced in the postseason tournament with a straight-set victory against Baxter at BCLUW High School on Monday, Oct. 28 in a Class 1A Region 4 quarterfinal matchup.

The Comets, ranked 13th in Class 1A, won 25-11, 25-16, 25-13. BCLUW will host Grand View Christian in a regional semifinal on Thursday, Oct. 31.

Jade Hammers led BCLUW with 11 kills and Kennedy Williams had nine kills. Allison Engle bolstered BCLUW's defense with 11 digs and Lizzie Garber's line included six kills, five digs and four total blocks. Hammers, Skye Teckenburg and Madison Ubben were stout in the service game, accounting for three aces each towards a total of 11 ace serves on 72-of-75 serving for the Comets on Monday.

An efficient attack was key. BCLUW landed 37 of 80 attacks on the gym floor with only 10 errors.
