CEDAR FALLS – Grundy Center's Wes Willis was one of a trio of area athletes competing on the North Squad at the Iowa Shrine Bowl, held at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls on Saturday, July 24.

The North vanquished the South, 52-24, led by Cooper DeJean, OABCIG star and future Hawkeye, who won the North's Offensive MVP award after the bg win.

The game is an invitational for Iowa's best high school football players to play an all-star game that benefits the Shriners' Hospital for Children.

Willis was joined on the North roster by Gladbrook-Reinbeck's Keagan Giesking and Dike-New Hartford's Nathan Moore.

G-R head coach John Olson was an assistant for the North, and Drew Eilers of G-R was a manager on the team.

BCLUW cheerleaders Noella Grafke and Keely Valde cheered on the North during the game and performed at halftime as part of the 49-member cheer squad.
