BCLUW boys 2nd at Les Penick Relays

CONRAD – BCLUW’s 4x800 quartet paced a collection of strong finishes for the Comet boys track and field team in the Les Penick Relays at BCLUW High School on Thursday.
BCLUW was second in the team standings with 125 points, trailing champs Aplington-Parkersburg with a 142 total. Gladbrook-Reinbeck was 12th with 13 points.
Lane Hartwig, Henry Kaisand, Nick Pieper and Connor Lynch claimed gold in 8:30.97. Lynch was also second in the 400; Pieper second in the solo 800.
Tyler Bracy was second in the 100 and third in the 200 and got the bronze in a 2-3 finish in the long jump with Logan Aicher grabbing silver.
The distance medley quartet of Logan Speicher, Aicher, Pieper and Cayden White added a runner-up finish.
G-R’s Logan Giesking placed fourth in the high jump after clearing the bar at 5-8. Austin Vaverka contributed a fifth-place finish in the long jump.
