Wolverine girls improve to 11-0 in NICL East

DIKE – The Dike-New Hartford girls remain at the top of the NICL East with two more conference wins this past week. The Wolverines earned a 50-29 win over Sumner-Fredericksburg Friday, after a commanding 63-17 win at Jesup Tuesday.
This week the Wolverines (13-2 overall, 11-0 NICL East) were scheduled to play BCLUW at Conrad on Tuesday, Jan. 27, host Charles City on Thursday, Jan. 29, and play Aplington-Parkersburg at Parkersburg on Friday, Jan. 30.
Dike-New Hartford 50, Sumner-Fredericksburg 29
After a close first quarter Dike-New Hartford pulled away from Sumner-Fredericksburg in the second period, entering the halftime break with a 28-16 lead. The Wolverines maintained and expanded the lead in the second half, and went on to take the win by 21.    
“We really zeroed in on this game as a huge one for getting a conference championship,” Dike-New Hartford head coach Bruce Dall said. “Sumner-Fredericksburg is a very good team that really matches up well with us. Our half-court offense is coming along nicely.”
