One dead after early morning crash in Grundy County

One person has died after a single-vehicle crash in Grundy County around 3 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff's Department, the driver was traveling northbound on Highway 14, approximately half a mile south of Highway 175 or eight miles southwest of Grundy Center, when the vehicle dropped off the east shoulder, striking a guardrail and cement culvert.
The car then flipped, landing on the wheels, before setting on fire.
Identification of the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is pending an autopsy by the State Medical Examiner's Office.
The accident is currently being investigated by the Grundy County Sheriff's Department. Assisting at the scene were the Grundy Center Fire and Ambulance, the Department of Transportation, and the Grundy County Medical Examiner's Office.
