GC Schools welcome new teachers

GRUNDY CENTER – As the start of the 2017-2018 school year kicks off, the Grundy Center Community School District welcomes 13 new teachers to its ranks.
In the Elementary School, new employees include: Kassandra Albright and Stephanie Smith, who will be teaching 3rd grade; and Amber Haskovec, who will be teaching transitional Kindergarten.
In the Secondary School, new employees include Michael Vokes, who replaces Kristin Sheffield as Secondary Principal; Alex Grunhovd, who will teach 5th and 6th grade Social Studies; Elizabeth Thompson, who will teach 7th and 8th grade Special Education; Kevin Walters, who will teach high school Math; Paula Winterberg, who will teach 5th and 6th grade science; Mary Jensen, who will teach high school Business; and Hillary Knox, who will teach 4th and 5th grade Special Education.
Amber Timmer and Lisa Kanagy were hired as Para Educators; and Patti Martens and Morgan Benson were named middle school and high school Administrative Assistants.
