Deputy county auditor terminated

After almost six years with Grundy County, Deputy County Auditor Heather Greiner was terminated from her position last week without explanation.
           
According to County Auditor Rhonda Deters, the final decision on the matter was hers, and all non-union, non-elected county employees are considered “employees at will” who can be fired without cause. Deters did not wish to provide any further comments.
           
Greiner, who had worked for the county since 2011, declined to be interviewed for the story. The issue was not discussed during Monday’s board of supervisors meeting.
