According to information presented during Thursday night’s regular city council meeting, Brycon, LLC, is now planning to have the Conrad fire station project completed by February 8 after previously receiving an extension until January 20.

Bob Nicholson of the IS Architects Group addressed the council and reported that while the work has been solid, it has moved more slowly than expected. The station was originally slated to be completed by the end of October, but Brycon owner Wes Bryngelson cited weather conditions and a lack of manpower as primary reasons for needing an extension.

“(Brycon) is making progress, but it’s been slow going on that end of it,” Nicholson said. “Don’t hold your breath on February 8. I don’t know what else to tell you.”

Mayor Jeff Martin reiterated that city officials are frustrated with the timeline but are more focused on making sure the facility is built right than rushing it to completion.
